| August 16, 2019: Changes to Campus Drive East of Baltimore Avenue |

| The university has been informed by the Purple Line constructors that on or about August 21, Campus Drive east of Baltimore Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the underpass, resulting in a traffic pattern shift (see map below).
|
|
| This partial closure will continue for approximately one year to lower the roadway to accommodate Purple Line trains that will travel through the WMATA Metro and CSX railroad track underpass.
|
|
| The sidewalk through the underpass will remain open initially, with a scheduled closure in early September. Once details are available, an update will be provided with the timing and detour for pedestrians and cyclists.

Here is some guidance and safety tips for travelers:
- Sign up for Purple Line construction notices at purplelinemd.com.
- Drivers and bus riders should expect moderate delays in this area during rush hour, and significant delays during special university events.
- Be patient and travel slowly through the area.
- Pay close attention to signs and flaggers.
- Report safety concerns to Purple Line Transit Constructors at outreach@pltcllc.com.
